Frederick University is an energetic and vibrant private university operating in the Republic of Cyprus, a member state of the European Union. Frederick University was established after a decision by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus on 12th September 2007. Although the establishment of the University is relatively recent, the organisation has a long history of more than 50 years in higher education. Frederick University operates from two campuses, the main campus in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus and the other campus in Limassol, the second largest city.
The purpose of the Program "Physical Education and Sports Sciences" is to provide a high level academic education and applied knowledge for the vocational preparation of sports scientists and physical educators teachers, in the area of Sports, Recreation and Health. Graduates will acquire educational skills that will enable them to successfully work in the private and public sector of exercise and sport services. The curriculum offers knowledge in the theory and practice of physical education and sports, and in fields such as training, rehabilitation, tourism, recreation and health, while encouraging the production of new knowledge. The Program "Physical Education and Sports Sciences" is in Greek and is located in Limassol.
As per University regulations, candidates can be admitted to the Program only if they satisfy the general admission requirements of the University.
In addition to the general entry requirements, applicants are admitted based on the average grade of the school leaving certificate from secondary education where a minimum grade of 80/100 (16/20) is required. Applicants interested in registering to the program that do not meet the requirements may be admitted after a personal interview. Additionally, applicants need to submit an Athletes Health Card given by the Cyprus Sports Organisation to comply with safety procedures.
