Frederick University is an energetic and vibrant private university operating in the Republic of Cyprus, a member state of the European Union. Frederick University was established after a decision by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus on 12th September 2007. Although the establishment of the University is relatively recent, the organisation has a long history of more than 50 years in higher education. Frederick University operates from two campuses, the main campus in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus and the other campus in Limassol, the second largest city.
The “MSc in Curriculum Development and Instruction” aims at effectively preparing teachers and researchers thus making them able to respond to the increasing complexity of the educational and social environment and be able to provide effective teaching and quality learning experiences and opportunities to all students. Great emphasis is given on the students’ cognitive development and the use of different teaching methods, procedures and tools, appropriate for the different thinking, cognitive and learning styles. The program will help students acquire the necessary theoretical and scientific background of effective teaching methodology and organization of powerful learning environments (conducive to interdisciplinarity) in order to function as productive members in the educational system and fully meet the increasing demands of today’s and tomorrows society. Finally, the program aims at equiping its students with advanced research skills and promotes research in the field of education especially in teaching methodology, interdisciplinarity and the social and pedagogical dimensions of education.
Students admitted to the programme are expected to hold a Bachelor Degree from an accredited University either in education, in humanities and social sciences. Also they are expected to be fluent in Greek and English.
