The concentration in Management Science focuses on cultivation and consolidation of fundamental knowledge and skills for developing and applying analytical and software tools to support operational decisions. The growing complexity and internationalization of business activities, the intensifying competition, and rapid advances in information technology, have created a strong need for developing and maintaining effective decision support systems based on modern analytical methods. These methods are derived from operational research, statistics, mathematics, financial, econometrics, and other relevant fields and mainly apply to the use of information management technology. The demand for managers who combine effective understanding of operational activities and challenges with the utilization and management of modern means of decision support is growing. The curriculum in Operations Management aims precisely to foster this combination of such knowledge and skills. Graduates with a specialization in Operations Management will be in a position to conduct business operations in various areas, such as in Industry, Logistics and Supply, Finance and Banking, Telecommunications and Transport, as well as many others. Students will also develop the solid foundations necessary to continue their studies at a postgraduate level.
