University of Cyprus aims to establish itself as a Pioneer Research Institution achieving International Scientific Recognition in European Higher Education, offering Competitive Programmes and to become a Centre of Excellence in the wider Euro - Mediterranean Region.
The doctoral program leads to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree. Applications are accepted from students who have already earned a Masters Degree in Psychology or related field. The doctoral degree consists of a minimum of 255 ECTS, which include the completion of eight academic courses corresponding to 60 ECTS (7.5 ECTS each). Students are required to pass a comprehensive examination during the 5th semester of their studies, after which they may begin their doctoral dissertation. The breakdown of the academic and dissertation courses are given below.
· Master degree by an accredited institution
· Student performance as indicated on university transcripts. Special weight is given to grades in related courses.
· Minimum of three letters of recommendation (see Departmental Recommendation Form); at least 2 of the letters should be from former professors.

· Research participation, publications and scientific publications
· Personal interview.
